Full Hull Cleaning & Cathodic Protection System Installation

  • Duration: 7 days (December 2024)

  • Scope of Work:
    Full underwater hull cleaning of a 240-meter cruise ship followed by the installation of a new sacrificial anode-based cathodic protection system.

  • Execution:

    • Removed 2 years’ worth of biofouling using rotary brush and cavitation cleaning.

    • Inspected and mapped corrosion spots with high-definition underwater cameras.

    • Installed 48 zinc anodes using wet welding methods (SMAW).

    • Documented all welds and provided full inspection log with photographic evidence.

  • Outcome:
    Reduced hull drag by estimated 12%, improving fuel efficiency. Anode system expected to extend hull life by 5+ years. Cruise schedule was not interrupted.
