Scope of Work:
Full underwater hull cleaning of a 240-meter cruise ship followed by the installation of a new sacrificial anode-based cathodic protection system.
Execution:
Removed 2 years’ worth of biofouling using rotary brush and cavitation cleaning.
Inspected and mapped corrosion spots with high-definition underwater cameras.
Installed 48 zinc anodes using wet welding methods (SMAW).
Documented all welds and provided full inspection log with photographic evidence.
Outcome:
Reduced hull drag by estimated 12%, improving fuel efficiency. Anode system expected to extend hull life by 5+ years. Cruise schedule was not interrupted.
